ALDE Party Council Meeting 2026

The ALDE Party Council Meeting will take place on 13 and 14 November 2026 in Dublin, Ireland, bringing together liberal political parties, elected representatives, policymakers and partner organisations from across Europe.

Hosted by Fianna Fáil and Taoiseach Micheál Martin, this special edition of the Council Meeting will coincide with the celebration of 50 years of the ALDE Party, highlighting five decades of cooperation between liberal and democratic forces across Europe.

As one of ALDE Party’s principal decision-making bodies, the Council Meeting provides members with the opportunity to discuss organisational priorities, exchange political developments from across Europe, and strengthen cooperation within the liberal family. Delegates will engage in policy discussions, membership affairs, strategic planning and preparations for upcoming European political developments.

Alongside the formal Council sessions, participants will have the opportunity to network with liberal leaders, elected representatives and political professionals from across Europe. The programme will also feature a range of anniversary activities and events reflecting on ALDE’s history and future role in defending liberal democracy, individual freedoms and the rule of law across the continent.

Representatives of VVD International will participate in the meeting, alongside various international partners and liberal organisations, making the Council Meeting an important platform for political exchange, cooperation and strengthening international liberal networks.
