Election Programme 2026 – 2030

Dear resident of Haarlemmermeer,

Haarlemmermeer is a municipality that was founded by optimists, pioneers, and hard workers; it is precisely this identity and mentality that we cherish and continue to promote as the local VVD.

In recent years, we as the local VVD have worked hard to put Haarlemmermeer on the map and develop it into a municipality where it is pleasant to live, where you can grow up well and safely, and where you can also enjoy your old age. A municipality with a vibrant economy, where there is room to relax and where you can get around easily, by car, bicycle, or public transport. In recent years, we have been able to do this as a stable, professional, and reliable party, together with residents, entrepreneurs, and other political parties.

Haarlemmermeer has become a municipality of national importance on its own merits.  Good relations and cooperation with the region, the province, and the national government are important for this. As the local VVD, we make optimal use of our regional and national network for this purpose. In recent years, these contacts and cooperation have led, for example, to the lifting of the reservation on the parallel Kaagbaan runway, an expansion of housing opportunities in all our villages and neighbourhoods, and a commitment to extending the North/South metro line to Hoofddorp. The challenges and ambitions in our municipality are diverse and significant. This means that it is important for a local party to have a strong presence throughout our municipality and for residents and entrepreneurs to know where to find us. VVD Haarlemmermeer is the only truly local party in Haarlemmermeer with roots in all villages and neighbourhoods.

We are proud of what we, together with the coalition parties, have achieved over the past four years. A small selection of results:

• Construction of more than 3,000 homes in Haarlemmermeer; Expansion of opportunities for splitting homes and maintaining generous parking standards; Hoofddorp is transforming into a city with allure: Construction of Hyde Park, completion of the city park, start of construction of homes on Concourslaan and the Sem building.
• The strongest municipality in the Netherlands economically; finances in order; Prevention of an increase in property tax (OZB); More local budget for safety;
• More bike paths, continuation of the North/South line, start of planning for the road around the South, arrival of additional high-quality public transport.
• Work must pay; minimum income schemes adjusted to a fairer model;
