During his 18 years at Shell, he held various management positions in the Netherlands and the Middle East. His political career with the VVD began in Bloemendaal, the village where he was born, where he served as a municipal councillor. He later became a member of the Provincial Council and subsequently a Member of Parliament. For the past nine years, Martijn has worked as a public-sector adviser to municipalities and the national government.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Martijn enjoys travelling, engaging with different cultures, and discussing politics in a changing world. He has been a trainer for the VVD and VVD International for many years. His main area of interest is liberalism in different cultural contexts, but he also provides training on party organisation and practical skills such as presenting and debating.
