The discussion brought together policymakers, activists, researchers and creators to explore how economic freedom and digital rights are increasingly intertwined with the rights and opportunities of LGBTQI+ communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">VVD International was represented by two members of its national board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Former VVD Member of Parliament Simone Richardson moderated one of the panel discussions, guiding an engaging conversation on the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital economy. The discussion explored how technological developments, online platforms and economic policies affect equality, freedom of expression and participation in society.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The event concluded with closing remarks by Lucas Vos, Treasurer and member of the VVD National Board. In his address, he reflected on the importance of safeguarding both economic freedom and fundamental rights in an increasingly digital world. He emphasised that liberal values remain essential in ensuring that technological innovation goes hand in hand with individual liberty, equal opportunities and an open society.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The event highlighted the liberal conviction that freedom is multidimensional: economic opportunity, digital rights and equal treatment reinforce one another.
