Dit kan gaan om onder andere illegale onderverhuur, (drugs)criminaliteit, ondermijning. Eerlijke woningzoekenden moeten hierdoor langer wachten op een sociale huurwoning. Daarnaast kosten sociale huurwoningen de belastingbetaler geld en misbruik van deze sociale voorziening zet het solidariteitsbeginsel onder druk.
